  3. 1/4 tsp Salt

  5. 150 grams Ground mixed beef and pork
  6. 2 tsp ☆ Sugar

  8. 1 tbsp ☆ Mirin
  9. 3 1/2 tbsp ☆ Soy sauce
  10. 2 tsp Vegetable oil
  11. 50 ml Flour
  12. 1 Egg
  13. 150 ml Panko
  14. 1 Oil for deep frying

  1. Cut the potatoes into 2 cm dice. Put the water, salt and potatoes in a pan and bring to a boil. Cook the potatoes over low-medium heat until tender. (About 6 minutes.)
  2. Drain off the water, put the pan of potatoes back on the heat, and evaporate the moisture on them so they become floury all over while shaking the pan.
  3. Mash the potatoes.
  4. Heat up a frying pan, add the vegetable oil and saute the chopped onion until transparent. Add the ground meat and cook until it changes color.
  5. Add the ☆ ingredients, and cook over high heat until the liquid is reduced by half.
  6. Add the meat mixture from step 5 into the mashed potatoes liquid and all, and mix well.
  7. When the mixture has cooled down enough to handle, form into oval patties. Coat with flour, then beaten egg, then panko.
  8. Deep fry until golden brown and crispy in 170°C (338 F) or so oil.
